Organics To You

Organics To You

A "Small" Bin

Organics To You was offering a 50% discount to try their service when they were at the Portland Green Show a couple of weeks ago. Normally $33, this box cost us $16.50. What a bargain! We did pay full price ($4.25) for the eggs (farm fresh from Banks, OR) which were not included. We thought we would try it for a one-time delivery. It is a refreshing change from the usual winter fare. Last night I made some potato leek soup. Yummy…this motivated me to eat more vegetables. We also recently signed up for a CSA for the first time. I am looking forward to good eating all season long 🙂

That is a bargain. I’ve wondered if we’d end up using everything sent, especially the veggies we don’t have much experience with – turnips or beets for example. Then again, it might force us to learn new techniques and recipes, which might be a good thing. I’d be curious at the end how this experience turns out for you.

I am writing down the results and will publish it in a couple of weeks or so. I want to see how it works out for us. I had the same thoughts about strange vegetables but I am getting creative.
