H & M Portland

Here I am wearing my H&M jacket that I bought in Berlin five years ago.

H&M is finally open at Pioneer Place! Marcel and I checked it out today and it was so crowded. Fortunately, the kids department was mostly empty. I went there to buy some gifts for my nieces and nephews and found some nice stuff. I took advantage of some “grand opening deals” and got out of there with 4 gifts without breaking the bank.

After I checked out, I requested for parking validation and surprise – they don’t do it 🙁 That was quite disappointing because we parked in the garage at $3/hour and most stores there validate parking tickets. The next store we went to had an excuse – something about waiting for the stamp to be delivered (?). Finally, the last store validated tickets with a $25 purchase.

Another H&M store will be opening at Washington Square next year. That will be a little bit more accessible. I’m not necessarily a fan of mass production but I believe it has its place in this world.
