Monthly Archive for August, 2008
Yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised to see strawberries at the Beaverton Farmers Market. We had them for breakfast this morning
. I also plan to make some jam tonight.
It seems that the unseasonably warm weather allowed for a bountiful harvest this week. I have never seen the farmers market with so much variety. I even got some sweet corn for just 3/$1. Yummy.

Just married in Evergreen, CO – August 9, 2003

Beautiful Hydrangeas
August 9, 2008 we celebrated five years of marriage. Looking back, we have accomplished quite a few things. We got married in Evergreen, Colorado in 2003, took a 4 1/2 month trip to Europe, a couple more months of traveling in the States, moved to Seattle and now Portland. We also bought our first home together and welcomed our new addition, Mulder the “wild animal” as we fondly refer to him. We are looking forward to many more great years together.
We bought this watermelon from Kruger’s Farm in Sauvie Island yesterday and was pleasantly surpised to see that it was yellow. It was sweet, just like we expected from anything labeled Hermiston. Mulder is waiting for a piece in the background. He liked it too.

My mom and youngest brother Francis came to visit last week from Dallas, TX and we had a great time! Here are a couple of pictures.
Mom, Francis and myself at the Portland Rose Garden. The Roses were in full bloom at this time of the year. There was also a nice view of downtown Portland.
Family picture at Ecola State Park. Mulder was too excited to pose for the camera. There were a lot of surfers braving the cold water that day. We were content to enjoy the beach from the view deck.
Yesterday, I updated the header with one that is custom-designed by my brother Francis. I instantly loved it! It is simple yet creative as well as a good representation of what this website is all about. As always, comments are welcome.
